Rebecca Richardson
I’m Rebecca and I am originally from Derby and have recently moved to Bury St Edmunds. I strongly believe that children with communication and interaction difficulties should be supported to reach their potential. Having my own little one has increased my passion for working with families and early intervention.
My first degree was in English language and it was during my studies that I became interested in the clinical side of linguistics and helping people to communicate. During my Speech and Language Therapy degree, I gained a range of experience in placements working in schools, clinics and with adults with communication and swallowing difficulties.
My previous roles have involved working in school-based services supporting children with Developmental Language Disorder, complex speech disorders, autism, ADHD, Down Syndrome and other conditions. I have worked across London and Milton Keynes with a range of clients often from multilingual backgrounds. I am passionate about creating a language-rich environment for children and working holistically across home and school settings. Children should be able to communicate their ideas clearly in all settings and thrive.
The three most important things to me are my family, friends and exploring new places. I also enjoy reading and am developing my crafting skills!
